Cerebral Palsy Siblings Around the World

Online Panel Discussion, 29 June 2022

“Eye-opening” was the most common description of the presentations and discussion shared at this online event organised by ICPS on 29 June 2022.

Cerebral palsy is the most common form of childhood-onset disability. It has a huge impact on the lives of the people affected. Less attention is paid to the impact on the brothers and sisters of people with cerebral palsy. They are carers, comrades, competitors and champions for their siblings.

At this online panel event, four remarkable eyewitness accounts shone a light on the role of siblings in the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy around the world:

Nikola Čulić, President of Cerebral Palsy Regional Alliance, Serbia, who has twin sons with CP

Manushri Gopi, representing CP Lanka Foundation, Sri Lanka, who has an older brother with CP

Ruka Ramon, representing CP Center, Lagos, Nigeria, who has a younger sister with CP

The team from Sesobel, Lebanon, which runs a dedicated programme for siblings

Recordings of the presentations will be available here shortly.
